Welcome to the Preacher’s section of the 63 South Website! I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself and what I do here at 63 South.
A quick profile: Name: William Bower (Wade) Age: 30 Family: I have been married to Kimberly for 11 awesome years. We have three outstanding children. From oldest to youngest, their names are: Shaylee, Sierra, Zachary. Hobbies: Football (Razorbacks, Steelers), hiking, losing to old guys at racquetball, cooking, fishing, marksmanship, music, anything with a lot of horsepower and the list goes on and on. However, we can’t forget the Chicago Blackhawks (hockey) or the St. Louis Cardinals (baseball, as if you didn’t know). Education: I graduated from Harding University with a Bachelor of Ministry in December 2009. I also received a certificate of completion from Harding’s Center for Advanced Ministry Training. I completed one year of the Sunset International Bible Institute in Lubbock, TX. I am currently enrolled at Lubbock Christian University in their Graduate Bible Program working on a Master of Divinity (which I plan on completing before I have grandchildren). Ministry: As you have concluded by now, I am the preacher here at 63 South. I have the coolest job on Earth. I get paid to love people. (Can you believe they pay me for that?) Preaching is just one of the many things that this congregation and leadership have going on. By the way, I am not the only guy that can deliver a message from the pulpit. We have many men who can preach the Word with great passion and ability. From outreach to counseling, there are many things at 63 South to be involved in or to simply find help if you need it.
The Church I can’t say enough about this group of people. I never imagined while I was in school that I would be able to find a church as hospitable, loving, and mission minded as this one. You will find more than just nice people here at 63 South, you will find a family that loves you. We want to be a part of your life, and we want you to be a part of ours. This church is growing, alive, and vibrant. We are a church with a vision, and we are on the road to a bright future. Most importantly, we hope that you will be a part of that future. Christ says in Matthew 11:28-30 – “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” If you are heavily burdened in your life, if it feels like the world is closing in, you don’t have to travel alone, I know a great place to find rest.
