63 South Church of Christ

"All the churches of Christ greet you" (Rom. 16:16).

The congregation of which we are a part of is usually known as “churches of Christ.” This term is not used in a sectarian sense, but is intended to denote our desire to belong to Christ’s church. The Bible says, ‘all the churches of Christ greet you” (Romans 16:16). However, it is just as correct to describe their church which we read in the Bible as “the church of God” (1 Corinthians 1:2), “the body Christ” (1 Corinthians 12:27), or “the household of faith” (Galatians 6:10). These and similar Biblical phrases are not proper names, but descriptive expression which show how the church is related to Christ and His Father.

We also believe in the steps for Salvation:

Hear the Gospel of Christ

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news! "But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our message?" Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ. (Romans 10:13-17)

Believe in Christ                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Those who believe and are baptized will be saved. But those who refuse to believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:15-16)

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6)

“That is why I said that you will die in your sins, unless you believe that I am the Messiah, the Son of God, you will die in your sins.” (John 8:24)

Repent of Past Sins

“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?" Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call." With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." (Acts 2:36-40)

In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now He commands all people everywhere to repent. For He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the man He has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising Him from the dead. (Acts 7:30-31)

Confess Faith in Christ

That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. (Romans 10:9-10)

"Whoever acknowledges Me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns Me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven. (Matthew 10:32-33)

Baptized into Christ

And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on His name. (Acts 22:16)

Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. (Romans 6:3-4)

. . . for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. (Galatians 3:27)

. . and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. (1Peter 3:21)

Faithfull Life

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:1-2)

"If you love me, you will obey what I command. (John 14:15)

Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life. (Revelations 2:10)
